A week with no TV… Failed!

Personal

Well, it was good while it lasted!

Last week we posted about what seemed like an awesome idea of one week without television, which is #53 of our goals. That turned out to be a bit lofty for us. We tried our hardest, but let’s be honest, there is only so much to do when you don’t have children yet. Don’t get me wrong, we love talking to each other and creating conversation but we also love getting on the couch, eating some ice cream and watching a good movie or tv show together.

With that being said, we were doing well for about 3 days than we decided that it wouldn’t be sooooo bad to watch one episode of Lie to Me, which is our current infatuation, with our dinner. And by the end of the week we were sucked into the NCAA Tournament, movies and stand up shows by Jim Gaffigan (who by the way, is HILARIOUS!)

We did learn a few things along the way though. It was great to be able to take time away from television and get work done, spend some extra time with each other and think of ways to serve one another (like doing the dishes after Kathryn cooks dinner!). We were getting to bed earlier, working out and reading more, but it only lasted for a couple of days. It has gotten us back into the working out mood, which is good and hopefully we can keep that up!

I challenge you all to try this! We enjoyed our attempt and will try again to take the tv out of our lives. Let us know if you are successful!

Until next time,
Devin
