What a great weekend. Although this Easter weekend was one of the busiest times to be working at a church, it was also a great weekend to spend time with my wife and her family. Let me give you a quick re-cap of all that we did!
Friday night started with Secret Church. Secret church is an incredible event led by David Platt, the author of Radical and the Pastor of the Church at Brook Hills in Alabama. He spent 7 hours, from 7pm to 2am, teaching on the subject of Heaven, Hell and the end times. It was incredible! I encourage you to check it out. If nothing else, check out his website and hear the amazing story of how it all started.
This is a photo of Hickory Grove, the church I work at, during the Secret Church Event.
The next day, my wife and I decided to get out of the house and go play some tennis. We had to even it up because last time we played, she beat me. Couldn’t let it happen again.
Later that day, we decided to meet up with Kathryn’s family and go to the lake house at Lake Hickory. It’s a small lake but big enough for wake boarding, and thats all that matters. The good thing about it is that it is always quiet and it is always fun!
We also got a nerf gun and Kathryn decided to have some target practice.
One of the newest additions to the nautical collection at the lake house is a battery propelled floating lawn chair. This thing is AWESOME (when it works)! It is big enough to just hang out and relax on, I cant wait to spend my days out on this bad boy.
Here is a sunset picture of the lake.
We also started building a new dock for the lake house. R.I.P. Old Dock, you will always be remembered!
I hope you all had a blessed Easter weekend! I am thankful for Jesus and his resurrection, in him we find life.
Until Next time,
Devin
