Robinson’s Recap {May 2017}

Monthly Recaps

Hello friends! May was a busy month with lots of weddings, shoots, and time with friends and family!! We wanted to provide a visual recap of all we were up to last month!

First up, we had a sunrise session with Brittany and Xavier!! We love these two and connect so well with them on so many levels! They also work together running their own fitness business so naturally we have lots in common! They challenge people (us included!) to live healthier lives and I know they are changing people’s lives by doing what they love!

Then we road tripped to Rome, Georgia for one of the highlights of our year- The Connect Retreat!! This is a retreat for married couples in business together and we LOVE it!! This was our second year going and we are already signed up for next year!! We have met some truly amazing people and some of our best friends… not to mention it’s at the Winshape Retreat Center which has – wait for it – UNLIMITED ICE DREAM. If you aren’t familiar with Chick Fil A’s ice dream, well, my friend, you’re missing out on a staple in the Robinson’s diet 😉 We are going to do a whole blog post devoted to this retreat, so keep an eye out for that!!

As soon as we got back from Connect, we hit the ground running! We did an engagement session in Uptown Charlotte for Kristin and Chase and it was so much fun!! We love shooting in unique places like breweries, especially when we can do it during closed hours and have the place to ourselves 😉

Then we shot Taylor and Pat’s dreamy wedding at the Deerpark Restaurant on the property of the Biltmore Estate! If you want to see their Uptown Charlotte engagement session, click here! The weather was not cooperating on their wedding day and because of the rain the ceremony was moved inside, but you guys, it was INCREDIBLE! Pat and Taylor were such troopers on the change of plans! Thankfully the rain let up enough to do some portraits in front of the Biltmore House and it was so beautiful. Their love for each other could not be more evident!

Next up was our best friends going away party (insert ALL OF THE SAD FACES)!! Our friends Natalie and Miguel moved to Florida, so we wanted to send them off with a bang! We had so much fun at their party and we miss them terribly!! They have hearts of gold and they are the kind of friends you can lean on no matter what! We also did a few pictures of the two of them on the campus of UNC-Charlotte!

May proved to be a very rainy month! Krista and Tom’s session had to be rescheduled not once, but twice because of rain!! It was worth the wait though because they had such an amazing connection and the light was incredible! They had their session at Trump National Golf Club Charlotte and there was so much beautiful scenery to work with!

Like I said, May was rainy… but Ashley and Wes braved the rain for their gorgeous session in Richmond, VA! Richmond is full of beautiful architecture and these two just made it look even better!

Our second wedding of the month was in Charlotte! Alex and Brian got married at Byron’s South End and it couldn’t have been more perfect! The weather was (finally) on our side and Alex and Brian made our job so easy with their amazing love for each other – they have so much connection! Although at the reception Alex did accidentally poke Brian in the eye and his contact popped out!

After their wedding, we headed to my (Kathryn’s) parents house to celebrate Mother’s Day!! It was a very special day, as it was my sister’s first time celebrating as a MOM! It is SUCH a joy to have a niece and we love her to pieces! 🙂

Next up was Heather and Jordan’s engagement session at the Hills and Dales Estate in LaGrange, Georgia! This estate is absolutely stunning and Heather and Jordan’s connection was out of this world!!

Back to Charlotte for another engagement session! This is Jessie and Austin in Uptown Charlotte and they definitely brought the heat!! These two are so much fun and we are so glad we got to spend time with them while they were in Charlotte!

Last, but certainly not least, Carley and Ryan tied the knot at The Arbors Events in Cleveland, NC! They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony and then an indoor reception that was truly a blast!

We ended the month at one of my favorite places on earth – my parents lake house! We relaxed, enjoyed some time in the sun, and of course, went to the marina for ice cream 🙂

We can’t wait for you to see the full blog posts for each of these sessions! Stay tuned!
