Holy SMOKES! Walking around for this uptown Charlotte engagement session was an absolutely dream! Seriously, amazing! These two were naturals and just watching them together was a joy for us!
The Couple
First, let me just say, this was a LONG time coming! They first contacted us back in April 2015. Yes, you read that cor rectory, April. Through a number of events we got delayed, I would say it is for the better because we have gotten WAY better in the last year! We were hoping we could shoot their wedding and that was the plan for a while but they are planning on taking a wedding cruise which is going to be UH-MAZING!! Let’s talk about this couple. They are awesome. I know that is such a common word to use, but these two together just take your breath away. They love each other with a seriously infectious love that you can’t help but to be drawn to and personalities that seem to be exactly like ours, so naturally we LOVED being around them!
The Uptown Charlotte Engagement Session
We met at 6:30 am. Yea, that’s right, AM. Early in the morning and it was a great decision! Even though it was early, I mean, really early, the light rises a little differently and there is a completely new look. It rises from a side of Charlotte that we aren’t used to shooting from so we get different angles and new looks! We met the Becthler Museum of Modern Art in Uptown Charlotte then walked around. We walked and just found every nook and cranny have in between buildings and in ally ways. We just followed the light! We ended up in some areas between buildings, in the middle of streets and in parks. Amanda really wanted a skyline photo and let me tell you, the sun rises from behind the buildings from Romare Bearden Park and it gives off this UH-MAZING look to the images. Usually we are used to the sun bouncing off of the buildings making it hard to have the couple exposed but it’s different in the morning and we LOVE it! We finished in the alley between two buildings that we have never shot in before and it won’t be the last time we shoot there!
