So, I have been looking for ways to use my camera more as well as develop a personal style. I have come across a few websites, but I decided to post my own “Creative Photography Project Ideas list”.
I really think that some of the ideas on this list will help tremendously with developing creativity as well as a knowledge for the basics such as aperture, posing, and lighting. If you are a photographer or just someone who likes to take pictures, you should try some of these out! You can check out some of the ones that I have decided to do on our 101 in 1001 post, where we have 101 goals we are trying to accomplish in 1001 days. So let’s get to it!
1. A-Z project
This project is simple. For every letter of the alphabet, find an object representation and take a picture of it. Try and challenge yourself to take abstract pictures and experiment rather than just point and shoot. Think outside of the box with this one!
2. Long Night exposure
Long night exposures are tricky to learn but once you get the hang of it the outcome can be very rewarding. If you aren’t sure where to start, Read: Night Photography tips with beautiful examples!!

3. 100 Random People
This is an incredible idea that gets you out of your comfort zone as well as helps you to develop a style. By taking pictures of random people you become bold with your camera and you learn how to quickly adjust them and measure the light because you want to kill the awkward moment as quickly as possible. I will be starting this challenge very soon and I will be sure to update you! Check out this flickr group of 100 strangers for inspiration!

4. Project 365 or Project 52.
This is a pretty common photography challenge. Post a quality picture either daily or weekly for one year!
5. The Nifty Fifty Challenge.
One of the most quality lenses you can get for a relatively cheap price is the 50mm 1.8 or 1.4. They are both sharp and affordable and create pictures with great depth of field. If you aren’t convinced, check out the 8 reasons to buy a 50mm Lens! With this challenge, use your 50 mm lens on 50 random objects/people!

6. Self Portraits
We all know the normal self portrait look, but this challenge is a little different. I challenge you to think outside of the box and do a self portrait from a different view. You can start out with the basic “holding the camera back at you” but branch out and try doing that with other backgrounds, getting random people to take pictures of you or using reflections!

7. Reflections.
Reflections are always creative shots, but try to find random things you didn’t even know you could reflect off of, like car windows, glass, puddles, and mirrors! Check out this post of 100 Remarkable Examples of Reflection Photography.
