You know you have a special bride and groom when all of the groomsmen fly in from all over the country to be at your wedding and one of the bridesmaids raps her toast! The groom had groomsmen coming from Seattle, Washington DC, and the Keys from Florida. They were the type of couple that a photographer loves. They were so easy going about the day and when we changed some things to help the day run smoothly, they were all for it and everything went off without a problem!
I had the privilege of second shooting this wedding for Yasmin Leonard Photography. She lives near Winston Salem & is an incredible photographer, probably the best newborn photographer I have seen in the area!
The ceremony took place at First Baptist Church High Point. The church had these beautiful large windows with an overhanging balcony that went out over the guests. We were able to get an incredible perspective! The ceremony was eventful to say the least and the reception was just as exciting. You will have to read on to see all of the excitement that this day entails!
“I cannot even imagine where I would be today were it not for that handful of friends who have given me a heart full of joy. Let’s face it, friends make life a lot more fun.”

Erin & Austin were so excited to do the first look that when they felt the blistering cold wind rushing by they were disappointed at the thought of not doing a first look. So we had to change it up! First Baptist Church High Point had the most beautiful balcony of so we thought it would be perfect to involved the bridal party in on the action and capture the whole moment!
Because of the cold weather we didn’t want to go far to do the portraits but we absolutely knew there was no way we would leave them only to be taken inside of the church. We found a cute little spot right next to the church that cuts off the wind perfectly so they wouldn’t freeze to death! The different layers of the columns added a beautiful touch to these images! It gave incredible depth that to the images that made Erin & Austin stand out more and look beautiful! This is one of my all-time favorite pictures. The moment the bride walks down the aisle with her father and in between both of them gleam the smile from ear to ear of that man she will soon spend the rest of her life with.I was really impressed because this was the most entertaining ceremonies I have ever been to! At one point in the ceremony Erin surprised Austin by breaking out the microphone and singing to him.
Austin busting out his best Vanna White impression as they literally tied the knot during the ceremony. Each of them got a piece of rope and tied a fisherman’s knot together. The Pastor then described the fisherman’s knot as ” the strongest knot made that only tightens and gets stronger with stress.” Since Austin is an outdoor fisherman kind of guy it was perfectly fitting for their ceremony!
This has to be my favorite ceremony shot of all time. These kids ran in circles, jumped into arms and scurried along the bottom of the stage until this perfect moment! The young boy ran around pretending to be a spy with his briefcase so as soon as this moment happened a big “Yessssss!” escaped from my lips! After the ceremony Erin & Austin actually went onto the balcony and waved all of their guests goodbye until the reception. The reception took place at the High Point Country Club at Emerywood. With these two, you can expect lot of laughing and a lot of fun.
Not only was he a spykid but he was also the best dancer in the house. Easily the coolest kid in the world! Her sister which was her maid of honor rapped….. yes, rapped her toast. And I’m not talking a corny little rhyme. This toast was choreographed with the DJ and went with favorites such as Gangam Style, Wrecking Ball and a whole lot more. It was actually really good and when a video surfaces I will for sure put a link up to it. It was a toast for the ages! This was one of the funniest parts of the reception. As Austin went in for the garter toss, he had a trick up his sleeve. Literally. There was a very large pair of grandma panties up his sleeve and he presented them in front of the whole crowd. It was HILARIOUS! Before they left the reception for their honeymoon I had to stop them and take advatnage of her absolutely stunning fur wrap with this light. This created the perfect classic, romantic, timeless look! How cool is this! They catered to the hungry side by giving all of the guest personal sized boxes of Krispy Kreme. The boxes included three donuts because lets be serious, one donut is not enough for a personal size. And the shot of the night. Absolutely love this sparkler exit shot. As they were running out of the country club, Austin stopped and got little smooch and we caught all of the action!Nothing ends a fairy tale wedding like riding off in a horse and carriage!
