The Farm at Brusharbor Wedding Ceremony
Emily & Devon’s Farm at Brusharbor Wedding was a moment to remember, even the rain couldn’t stop the love between these two. It was truly a dazzling event and capturing this rustic wedding ceremony under the covered barn setting in Concord, North Carolina.
The bride said it perfectly, “The Farm at Brusharbor has a gorgeous outside area for wedding ceremonies, but due to weather (BOO RAIN!! haha) we had our ceremony under the covered barn, which was a nice alternative to still be outside and be able to take in the beauty of the venue, but while staying dry!”
Words from the Bride
The couple’s vision for our wedding was to have a rustic, laid back feel, but also make it timeless and classic. The color scheme chosen was light blue and lavender to subtlety incorporate they favorite sports teams (Clemson for her and UNC for him). Also, they wanted to showcase the beauty of the venue by having minimal flowers and enhancing it with greenery. One thing they wanted to keep in mind throughout the whole style was to stay true to themselves and incorporate as many small details and personal touches as possible.
The Ceremony
The flowers I used were hydrangeas and peonies. They have always been the bride’s favorite flowers because they are beautiful, but also classic, big and bold! The florist infused the arrangements with greenery and light blue accents to the lavender and white flowers to incorporate the overall color scheme.
The bride walked down the isle to a JOHNNYSWIM song “Take the World.” They both really loved this song and when they were thinking about what she would walk to, they knew this song was the one. “We both cry whenever we hear this song because it just makes us think of how blessed we our to have each other and how perfect our own fairy tale is,” she said. Both of the couple’s pastors who they grew up with perform the ceremony. They remarked, “that was very special for both us to have someone who has watched us grow up and who personally knew each of us to marry us.”
During the touching ceremony the Bride captured a very special moment with her groom, “Our ceremony was very personal and special to us. One thing we incorporated was partaking in communion together as husband and wife. This was a special moment for us to share together in a new marriage.”
“My favorite part of the day was walking down the aisle to marry my husband and sharing that moment with my family and friends. It was very emotional (both of us were crying like babies),” the bride said.
The Reception and Details
The reception was incredibly special because of all the personal touches that they incorporated into it.
The couple’s favors were little rocks that said “Love” on them and had their names and wedding date. The idea came from her grandmother and she ran with it. Her and her friends got together weeks before the wedding and hand painted each rock. It was something very special to the bride, just because it meant so much to her grandmother. “Guess it was kind of a pun too that it was stones that we gave out. We are the Stones!”, said the bride.
From the food to table decorations, all of the details were thought of to make sure it was special and meant something to the bride and groom.
Their first dance song was “Wanna Be That Song” by Brett Eldredge. The bride said, “Devon and I went to our first concert together a few months after they’d been dating. Brett Eldredge was one of the performers. He debuted this song at the concert. Before he played it he said he wanted people to play this at their weddings. Think of it when they have kids, and just be a song that impacts their lives in a special way.”
The bride’s dad gave a speech that was unbelievably sentimental. His speech was at the beginning of the reception and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
Emily and Devon carefully chose some of the details that they incorporated into the reception. It included an elements from their engagement picture session at Disney World. A beautiful neon sign that said “Happily Ever After” over the wedding cake. “Happily Ever After” is the song that is played during the fireworks show at Disney World. Some of the bride’s favorite pictures of their engagement shoot was at the moment that song played. It was only fitting for the sign to say this, and for that song played while they cut their cake.
The baker knew that the couple wanted to incorporate our color scheme, but also make it fun and unique. She came up with the idea to do a watercolor marbling feel to the cake with gold flakes. It was just the right size, so beautiful, and the perfect amount of color and pop!
Other small Disney touches could be seen at the wedding. The bride changed into Cinderella TOMS for the reception, and their chair signs said “To Infinity and Beyond”.
The Bride’s Final Words
In closing, Emily’s words said it best, “My biggest piece of advice would be to take in every moment. I didn’t believe anyone when they would tell me it would be a blur, but it really is! The day went by so fast and sometimes it is hard to remember the small details. I just suggest taking in every moment you can and dwelling in it with your new husband! Don’t let the small things worry you because that will take away from the special moment!”
The Farm at Brusharbor Vendors
This rustic farmhouse wedding was memorable and each speciality vendor brought a unique flair to The Farm at Brusharbor Wedding. Even the rain couldn’t interrupt the day. Chelsea from Charlotte Fette shifted this outdoor wedding to under the covered barn adding to it’s charm. The bride’s favorite flowers are hydrangeas and peonies because they are beautiful, but also classic, big and bold and Willow Floral Boutique provided the floral designs. The Bride’s hair was beautifully styled by Glammed and Groomed. The Celestial Cakery incorporated all of the bride and grooms favorite colors into a watercolor marble design with a touch of gold flake adding just the right “pop”. DJ Groove brought the house down.
