Breast Cancer Survivor Portraits!

Portraits

Recently, Susan G Komen for the Cure’s Charlotte affiliate (their facebook)asked us to do portraits for survivors and instantly we jumped at the opportunity! Because this subject hits so close to home (Kathryn’s mom is a 5 year survivor!), we were thrilled with the idea of serving Komen and these women in documenting the joy that comes from fighting and surviving cancer.

Some of the pictures will be displayed at Carowinds, so keep an eye out! 🙂

Below are some of the pictures of the survivors and co-survivors, all amazing people, and all with an incredible story!

This picture is of the Executive Director, Lori, and one of the best advocates for Breast Cancer Awareness, Mike!

Recently Moira (below) was diagnosed with breast cancer, has gone through chemo and has kicked its butt! She is now constantly styling, with the best hair cuts!

These two were incredible! The mother was diagnosed when her daughter was 12 years old and her daughter has since raised $15,000 for her mother and the research against breast cancer. She is just 15!We really enjoyed doing this shoot! If you or a loved one has recently been diagnosed with cancer, please reach out to the Komen office! They are an incredible resource! Also, mark your calendars for the Race for the Cure on October 5th in Charlotte! You can register on the Komen website! 🙂
