WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW is all that I can say! This is wedding was one of the most amazing weddings we have ever been to let alone have had the privilege to photograph!

Megan and Drew are family friends of ours who live in Chicago. But you would never know it because of how warm hearted they are. Get it, its always cold in Chicago.. Moving on.. They both are experts in food science, so you could only imagine how GOOD the food was! Megan was raised in Morganton so it was only fitting to have a small intimate wedding in a small town with all of their closest friends. 39 people were there to watch as they tied the knot, and that includes us and little babies!

If you knew all of the preparation that took place, you can tell Megan really valued her wedding day and spent a lot of time to make sure it was perfect. Almost everything there was HANDMADE!
The invitations.. Handmade
The Chandeliers.. Handamde
The napkins on the tables… Handmade
And even her dress.. Handmade.. yes! That stunning dress with all of its beauty and detail was handmade by 3 generations! Her grandmother, mother, and her spent countless hours to craft the perfect dress for Megan.

These are two of the nicest people we have known and we are so thankful to not only call them clients but call them friends! We loved being able to be there on their special day and we look forward to an exciting future together!

Q. What was your favorite part about the wedding?
A. The anticipation of seeing Megan in her dress and hearing us announced as, “Mr. and Mrs. Watson!”

Q. What was one quirky or crazy thing that happened on your wedding day?

A. The caterer showed up to find a kitchen without an oven! We were made to believe the venue came with one, but it didn’t. Our wedding planner, Lauren Perrone (Bash! Events), took care of it and nobody knew any different.

Also, during the blessing before our meal, Megan’s nephew, Judah, said his own blessing aloud, repeating “Amen” until everybody else said “Amen,” too 🙂

Q. Any DIY elements.

A. Most of our wedding was DIY:The tables, linens, and chairs were rented, but we made or embellished almost everything else. The chandeliers are IKEA, but we spray-painted them and added some flourishes. Megan loves color and pattern, so she and her mother made the napkins — two of each pattern — for our guests to keep as mementos of the occasion. We crafted our signature cocktails for the event (“The Milo” for him and “The Meg” for her). During our cocktail hour, the charcuterie plate featured bread, toast squares, and goat cheese from Forget Me Not Farm, the farm Megan’s parents own. The vases are also IKEA, painted at home and brought with us. Megan’s father made the bocce court and her brother made and painted the cornhole set as a wedding gift.We made our save-the-dates and wedding invitations, too, and Megan’s mother and Drew’s father’s wife made the gift bag treats (Megan’s father custom silk-screened the bags with their farm logo).We have always been DIY types, so having our wedding any other way was almost inconceivable! We may not have saved time, but the memories of the process are what we cherish the most.

Q. How would you rate our service and why?A. 12, because there were donuts! Kathryn and Devin killed it at our wedding, and we could not have been happier with their professionalism and the photos we received from them. They made us and each of our guests feel special, and looking back through the photos has been very special for us.
